6/13/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Sunday

Yesterday I finally finished my saga about my dogs and the raccoon.  Since hormones are heightened during pregnancy I think my body reacts much more quickly to stress.  Today I decided to research exactly what kind of affects stress can have on the baby.  I found some information on womenshealthcaretopics.com:  it mentioned studies that suggest that stress can lead to premature labor or babies with low birth weight.  Another website links stress to hyperactivity, poor attention, poor spatial reasoning, and even lower IQ's due to stress.  Now when they mentioned stress it was more serious situations such as divorce, death, abuse, or infidelity.  But, however, I do believe that the toxins that enter the body when a person is stressed cannot be healthy for the baby.  I think it's important that I try to remain relaxed and as stress free for the baby as I can.
