10/8/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Friday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 9. October 2013 11:26

Today was my 39 week check up.  No progress.  I really was hoping that our son would be here by now.  I mean, I had to endure severe morning sickness up until 6 months so I thought maybe it was in the "cards" for me that I wouldn't have to suffer two weeks over my due date like most women do with their first child.  Not to mention, everyone I talk to is completely freaking me out about being induced!  They keep saying that in order for the doctor's to make sure the Pitocin is working I will have to endure some serious contractions before I can have an epidural.  I'm going to have to think positively that nothing could hurt worse than when the baby was implanting in my uterus.  That was actually worse than my endometriosis pain (which I had always described as a knife being pulled in and out of my uterus).  The pain from implantation due to the endometriosis and hormone injections was astronomical.  I was doubled over in pain, a hot sweat all over my body, rocking on the floor with my husband letting me squeeze the life out of his hand until those moments were over.  I pray that being induced is not nearly as bad as that.  Some people say to me, " Oh you'll know when you're having real contractions because the pain will be so intense."  Well, I've lived a life of pain with this endometriosis and then trying to get pregnant because of it; I'm curious to see which is worse.  I will have to make sure to let you know what I found to be more unbearable!

As of now, Monday we are getting an ultrasound and stress test done.  I will let you know what the doctor says Monday night.
